-
Check the Paper Size and Type:
- Ensure that the paper loaded in the tray matches the settings on the printer.
- Recheck the type and quality to confirm it meets printer specifications.
-
Inspect Paper Tray:
- Remove the paper from the tray and reload it.
- Ensure the paper is loaded properly and the tray is not overfilled.
- Try rotating the paper 180° in the tray.
-
Clean Paper Path:
- Open the printer and check for any paper jams or debris blocking the paper path.
- Clean the inside of the printer, focusing on sensor areas.
-
Reset Printer:
- Unplug the power cord.
- Wait for 60 seconds and plug it back in.
- Turn the printer on to reset any error states.
-
Update Firmware:
- Ensure your printer's firmware is up to date. Visit HP Customer Support for the latest firmware updates and follow the instructions provided.
-
Check Printer Status via Software:
- Use the HP Smart app or HP Printer Assistant to run diagnostic checks on the printer.
- Follow any additional steps suggested by the software.
-
Manual Sensor Cleaning:
- If the problem persists, manually clean the paper tray sensors if accessible. Check the user manual for your printer model to locate the sensors.
