Hi @tyagijix

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for trying all the steps so thoroughly—I’m genuinely sorry your HP Ink Tank 310 is still showing the E4 paper jam error.

Since you’ve already followed the support page instructions, let’s walk through a few deeper checks that may help clear the error and restore smooth printing.

Step-by-Step: Resolve E4 Paper Jam Error on HP Ink Tank 310

1. Inspect Rear Access Panel Thoroughly

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the rear access door by pressing the release tab.
  • Remove any visible paper or fragments.
  • Rotate the rollers gently to check for hidden scraps.
  • Close the panel securely.

Even a small torn piece can trigger the jam sensor.

2. Check the Input Tray and Paper Path

  • Remove all paper from the input tray.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the paper feed rollers.
  • Look for:
    • Bent or misaligned rollers
    • Dust buildup or stuck paper
  • Clean rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

Misfeeds or roller friction can simulate a jam condition.

3. Open the Cartridge Access Area

  • Lift the top cover to access the printhead carriage.
  • Check for:
    • Jammed paper near the carriage path
    • Loose bits around the ink tubes or carriage rails
  • Gently move the carriage left and right to confirm smooth motion.

Obstructions here can prevent carriage movement and trigger E4.

4. Reset the Printer

  • Disconnect power and USB cable.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect power directly to a wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer on and wait for initialization.

This clears temporary sensor faults and resets the jam detection logic.

5. Print a Self-Test Page

  • Press and hold the Power button, then press the Cancel button once.
  • Release both buttons.

If the printer prints successfully, the jam error may have cleared.

6. Update Firmware (Optional)

Visit:  HP Ink Tank 310 Drivers and Firmware

Select your operating system and download the latest firmware.

Install via USB and restart the printer.

Firmware updates can improve sensor calibration and error handling.

Let me know how the printer responds after these steps. If the E4 error persists, I can guide you through checking the encoder strip or preparing a manual feed test.

You're doing everything right—this deeper inspection should help uncover the root cause.
