I have the same false ADF jam that so many others have had. I have tried all the things posted here with no success. What now?

Hi @RON32435,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 All-in-One Printer is experiencing a false ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) jam, and you've already tried common troubleshooting steps without success, here are some advanced solutions to try.

Deep Clean the ADF Sensors

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the ADF cover and carefully inspect the feeder path for dust, debris, or small paper fragments.
  • Use compressed air or a soft, dry cloth to clean the sensors.
  • If available, lightly wipe the rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Let everything dry completely before plugging the printer back in.

Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the power cord from the printer while it is turned on.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Try scanning again.

Check for Firmware Updates

  • Make sure your printer’s firmware is up to date.
  • On the printer control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Update the Printer.
  • Alternatively, visit HP's official website, download, and install the latest firmware for your model.

Run HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • Follow the prompts to detect and fix ADF issues.

Disable ADF Detection (Temporary Workaround)

  • If the ADF false jam persists but the scanner bed works fine, you can bypass the ADF and scan from the flatbed scanner.

Factory Reset the Printer

If none of the above steps work, try a factory reset:

  • From the Control Panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
  • This will reset all settings, so make sure you note down any important configurations.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
