Hi @Gedam,

When your HP LaserJet Pro 400 reports a paper jam in the cartridge area but no paper is visible, it might be caused by a few different issues. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow:

  1. Turn Off and Unplug: Begin by turning off your printer and unplugging it from the power source. Wait for at least 30 seconds before proceeding to ensure the printer resets.

  2. Inspect the Printer Thoroughly:

    • Remove the toner cartridge carefully and check for any small bits of paper or debris that might not be easily visible.
    • Use a flashlight if necessary to inspect the entire paper path inside the printer, including rollers and nooks where paper might get stuck.
  3. Check the Toner Cartridge:

    • Inspect the toner cartridge itself for any obstructions or damage. Sometimes, the cartridge might not be seated properly, which could cause this error.
    • Clean the toner cartridge gently with a soft, lint-free cloth if there's any visible toner debris.
  4. Inspect Rollers and Gears:

    • Make sure the rollers and gears are clean and move freely. Dust or debris can sometimes cause paper jams or false jam errors.
    • Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe the rollers if necessary.
  5. Reload Paper: Ensure that you are using the correct size and type of paper recommended for your printer, and that it is loaded correctly without overfilling the paper tray.

  6. Reset Your Printer:

    • Reinstall the toner cartridge securely.
    • Plug in and turn on your printer again to see if the error persists.
  7. Update Firmware:

    • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Firmware updates can resolve certain issues related to error reporting and improve functionality.
