HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

When the print turns on and cycles through i get a loud grinding vibrating noise then the "Photo tray is blocked" error. I have tried restarting, removing the tray, and cream cover and reloading them, firmware is upto date. I don't see any blockages. Please help. I don't even use the photo tray I need the main tray for printing but there is no work around.

@mel326, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check for Jammed Paper:

  • Open the main tray and inspect the photo tray.
  • Remove any visible paper that might be obstructing the tray.

Realign the Photo Tray:

  • Make sure the photo tray is seated properly in its slot.

Inspect Tray Movement:

  • Ensure that the tray can slide smoothly in and out without obstruction.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer using the power button.
  • Unplug the power cord from the power outlet and the printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
