It keeps coming up with a paper jam or that the paper tray is installed properly whenever I try to print photos. I have checked and there is no paper jam and the tray is clear of obstruction. Is there another compartment to my printer that I haven't opened to check?

Hi @dougie_, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Your HP Envy Inspire 7220e has multiple access points where a jammed or misfed paper might be stuck.
Since you've checked the main paper tray and found no obstructions, try the following additional areas:
Inside the Ink Cartridge Area
- Open the front access door to access the ink cartridges.
- Carefully check under the cartridges for small bits of torn paper.
- If you see any stuck paper, gently remove it.
Photo Paper Feed Path
Since you're trying to print photos, the issue might be with the photo paper feed rollers:
- Remove all paper from the main tray.
- Load only one sheet of photo paper at a time.
- Adjust the paper guides snugly against the photo paper.
- Try printing again.
Cleaning the Rollers
If there's no visible jam, the rollers might be slipping due to dust or wear:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Take a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
- Open the input tray and gently wipe the rubber rollers inside.
- Let them dry for a few minutes before plugging the printer back in.
Reset the Printer
Sometimes, false paper jam errors are stored in memory.
- Turn off the printer, unplug it for 2-3 minutes, then plug it back in and restart.
- Try printing again.
