Hi all , went out to look at an old HP M712 printer that was randomly bending some corners , i went to take the fuser out , which is not complicated , as you release that latch from the left door and turn the two levers down 90 degrees inward and pull the fuser out. But for some reason the fuser will not come out , its just stuck in there , also now i have a " close left door" message. So wondering if anyone has ran into this kind of issue before. Or if there are any common areas that would bend corners, in this case , the rear corner.thanks

That door comes out first or you cannot remove the fuser. Toner build up in the paper path can lead to dog earring. Also test all trays to see if the problem is only from one or all trays.

Yea , you talkin about the left door ? Where it is on a pin on the rear side and peg in the hole on the front? I pull the duplexer , take off that door , then there is the 2 latches you move inward 90 degrees to the center , and it should pull out. Just wont come out , only thing i can think is maybe it's stuck in the drive or those latches are not releasing. I ordered a fuser , gonna go back and try to get it out then.

Never had one jam like that, though I have seen the latches be a little troublesome sometimes. I guess it is possible that the fuser drive has jammed and if that is the case you may need to remove the front panel and check that. The fuser drivers are a common point of failure due to the lubricant they used causing premature gear wear. Do not take my initial response the wrong way. As i have no way to know the skill and knowledge level of the person posting,
