Hi @broodond,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the document feeder on your HP OfficeJet Pro 9015 is not working, try the following troubleshooting steps.

Check for Physical Obstructions

  • Open the document feeder and look for any jammed paper or debris.
  • Remove any stuck pages carefully.
  • Wipe the rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.

Restart the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait 60 seconds before plugging it back in and turning it on.

Clean the ADF Rollers and Sensors

  • Open the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) cover.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
  • Dry them completely before closing the cover.

Adjust the Paper Stack

  • Ensure the documents are properly aligned and inserted correctly.
  • Avoid overloading the feeder; try scanning a single page to test.

Reset the Printer

  • Unplug the printer while it is powered on.
  • Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Check Printer Software & Settings

  • If scanning, ensure the ADF (not flatbed) is selected in the HP Smart app or scanning software.
  • Update the HP Smart app and printer firmware.

Perform a Scanner Hardware Test

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to:
Settings > Reports > Printer Status Report
  • If the report prints, but scanning still does not work, the ADF mechanism may need service.

Try a Different Scanning Method

  • Use the HP Scan and Capture app on your computer.
  • Try scanning from a different device (PC/Mac).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
