I own a HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 that stopped feeding thick and/or glossy photo papers. I read on this forum that pressing on the back paper jam door can get the paper to feed and it does fix the problem.
I found a "permanent" solution. I wedged a thick paperback novel between the wall and the back paper jam door, holding it firmly against the machine, and the printer works fine feeding paper of all thicknesses and finishes. The Printer is heavy enough to hold the book in place and its a cheap solution that has worked on multiple sheets. ENJOY!!!
