Try these steps:
Force Restart the Printer
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds.
Reconnect Power:
- Plug the printer back into the power source.
- Turn on the printer.
Inspect Paper Path Thoroughly
Remove Paper Tray:
- Take out the paper tray and examine it thoroughly for any hidden pieces of paper.
Open Back Access Door:
- Open the back access door or rear panel to get a clearer view of the paper path.
- Look inside and use a flashlight if necessary to spot any paper fragments.
Check the Carriage:
- Move the print carriage manually to see if there are any obstructions.
- Ensure the carriage can move freely from one side to the other.

- Download and Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:
- This tool can help identify and resolve printing issues. Download it from HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Clean Printer Interior
Turn off Printer:
- Make sure the printer is turned off.
Open All Accessible Panels:
- Open all accessible areas including the front, back, and any other access panels.
Cleaning Rollers:
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
Reset Printer
Initiate Hard Reset:
- Disconnect all cables including power and USB cables.
- Press and hold the printer's 'Power' button for 15 seconds.
Reconnect and Power On:
- Reconnect the power cable and turn the printer back on.
Perform Firmware Update
- Download Firmware Update:
- Ensure the printer’s firmware is updated to the latest version by visiting HP's support website and downloading firmware updates.
