Hi @henri35,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing an issue with the printer's paper feed mechanism, possibly caused by a jam or a problem with the gears. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:
- Check for Jammed Paper: Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source. Open the main tray and any other access doors or panels to check for any jammed paper. Carefully remove any paper you find, making sure not to tear it in the process.
- Inspect Paper Path: Use a flashlight to carefully inspect the paper path inside the printer for any obstructions or debris that may be causing the paper to jam or the gears to crunch.
- Clean Rollers: Paper feed rollers can accumulate dust and debris over time, leading to feeding issues. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water or isopropyl alcohol. Gently rub the rollers to remove any buildup.
- Reset Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can help resolve minor issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your HP Photosmart 7510 printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve compatibility issues or bugs that may be causing the problem. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Check Paper Type and Size Settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings on the printer match the paper you are using in the main tray. Mismatched settings can sometimes cause feeding issues.
