Hi @TRF5,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Turn Off the Printer:
- Ensure that the printer is turned off and unplugged from any power source for safety.
Inspect the Tray and Printer:
- Check both the paper feed tray and the printer for any visible damage.
- Identify the alignment tabs or hooks on the tray and the corresponding slots on the printer.
Align the Tray:
- Hold the paper feed tray in such a way that the tabs or hooks are positioned to fit into the slots or mounts on the printer.
Reattach the Tray:
- Gently insert the tabs or hooks of the tray into the corresponding slots on the printer.
- Make sure the tray is aligned correctly and press it gently but firmly into place.
Secure the Tray:
- Once the tray is aligned and inserted, apply even pressure to ensure it is securely attached.
- Check if there are any locking mechanisms or clips that need to be snapped into place.
Test the Tray:
- Reconnect the printer to the power source and turn it on.
- Insert a small stack of paper into the feed tray and check if it holds firmly and feeds paper properly.
Additional Tips:
- Check the user manual for any specific instructions related to reattaching the paper feed tray.
- If the tray or printer has sustained damage and cannot be reattached, consider contacting HP Customer Support for further assistance or potential replacement parts.
I hope this helps.
