HP Printer OfficeJet Pro 6968. Complaint, "Cartridge Carriage cannot move. How do i resolve this?

there are several possible causes:

1. if the carriage cannot move then something is likely blocking the path. Is the printhead in the normal position where it rests when not printing or somewhere along the path it moves. If it is in the path, look for foreign objects in the path of the printhead. Unplug the printer and try to manually move the printhead.

2. If the printhead is in the resting position, there could be something blocking the service station from releasing the printhead. Again look closely for any foreign objects.

3. If the head is somewhere on the path, the plastic encoder strip that is used to track head position may have dislodged or broken. it is a piece of clear plastic with a fine grid printed on it that a sensor in the printhead reads as it moves to tell the brain where the printhead is in the travel path.

4. one of the cartridges may have popped out of the printhead and is blocking movement.
