How can I print labels using an Avery card that is 4" X 10?" The paper adjustment tabs need to be at 8.5" to accommodate the paper, but the label card is the above dimensions. Using HP Laser Jet M209dwe with MacBook Air running Sonoma 14.5.

If the paper physically does not fit then you cannot print. Can you not print rotated 90 degrees so that the short side enters first?

Thanks for your reply. The sheet that comes with the labels is 4" X 10" so it would not fit either way. I have found a work around though that involves making a spreadsheet with the same size labels, printing on office paper, then cutting them out and attaching them to the card stock paper that contains the perforated labels.

I am curious about the product number of this label set. Avery usually is pretty good about producing a working product and there should be no reason you cannot feed a sheet 4" wide and 10" long.

The Avery product uses template 16219 or 16221. The printer I use is HP M209dwe. If I understood the Avery assistant, I could place the 4X10 card on top of the stack of paper in the feed tray and it would print on the card if it was on top. Apparently, there is no separate opening to use for loose paper. If I had a stack of 4x10 paper, I could add that to the paper tray and it would probably print properly, but with only 1 sheet of labels, it would have to lie on top of my 8x11.5 paper. My skepticism comes because the aligning tabs would hold the paper stack in place, but how would I place the smaller card on top of the paper stack and know it is in the right place? Would the labels print right-justified or center. How would I determine the margin? I started my alternate plan and it appears to be working. Thanks

You could always cut down a couple of sheets of 8.5 x 11 to 4x10 and put that in the tray first.
