HP Envy Photo 6255

It states the printer is out of paper, buts it's not.  I've reloaded several times, pulling tray out and making sure its in correctly...

Welcome to the HP Community.

Open

 User Guide

Load Paper - starting on Page 15

Right after you load the paper into the printer and close the tray -

Does the printer display panel ask that you check / modify the paper?

If yes, select to "modify" or change - (re)select the paper size / type

If no, then the printer is not aware you have changed / loaded paper.

Open the Tray

Remove the paper and gently flex the stack (do no "fan" or "fluff" the paper)

Return paper to the tray

Check for a message on the printer display panel that it knows paper is loaded

Select to "modify" change the paper size / type > (Re)select the paper size type

Example - Retain / Modify / Check the Paper Tray and Management

Printer Display / EWS / HP Smart - Tray and Paper setup

Retain_Printing_Preferences_8Retain_Printing_Preferences_8

No Joy?

If the printer is not aware that the paper has been loaded / changed / set,

then the paper sensor is perhaps not detecting the action of changing the paper.
