HP Photosmart C309A
Microsoft Windows Vista

I had an general error come up on my printer C309A saying I had an error with the paper jamming or print head. I ran all the routines to check if they cleared the problem but to no avail. Whilst shining my torch into the printer I could see some bits of plastic and when I picked up the printer I could hear them rattle around so I opened the casing to access them.

they were little gears and the housings which had broken off. See attached images

this is the right hand side

of the printer

broken parts (screws are from casing)

assembled it should look like this.

is there anywhere you know where I can obtain this part and fit it or does it need to be sent away for fixing.

TIA

HP does not typically sell small parts, you might try ebay to see if someone is parting out a unit.

Thanks for this I have just found the same printer on EBay.

would need to find out how to swap the part over, do you know where I could get hold of instructions?
