I'm trying to print photos but the printer is not recognizing the photo tray. and it won't let me print a 4x6 photo from the main tray.
I'm using HP Smart, I select Print Photos, and select my photo. I choose photo size 4x6, select HP Photo paper. I then go to Settings and select HP Photo Paper and select Photo Tray. When I click the OK button I get the following error message: Paper tray was changed from Photo Tray because of a conflict with another printer setting.
I have tried printing from the Main Tray but it doesn't like the 4x6 size.
How do I print from the Photo Tray? What is the other printer setting that it is causing a conflict? I've looked everyone I can think of.

It took awhile but I'm now printing photos. Thanks to Dragon-Fur with his long suggestion that I studied in detail and spent hours fooling around with. I've learned that I have to make several appropriate changes in HP Smart to get it to work. I've been fooling around with these fields for several days and it wasn't working, I'm guessing I never had the correct combination. I'm going to list what I learned to maybe help someone else some day. And also, in case I forget I can come here to review my notes. (I studied several sections in the online manual per Dragon-Fur's suggestion, but never did I see the specific steps listed below. )
1) Go to HP Smart and Select 'Print Photos'
2) Select Photo
3) Change 'Letter Size' to '4x6
4) Change 'Photo Size' to 4x6
5) Change 'Paper Type' to HP Photo Papers
6) Select 'More Settings' at the bottom of the screen
7) Change 'Paper Tray' to Photo Tray
Select 'OK' at bottom of page
