HP ENVY X360 with Windows 10

HP Officejet pro 8025

IT SAYS HP DOCUMENT FEEDER WAS NOT ABLE TO PICK UP THE ORIGINAL MAKE SURE THE DOCUMENT FEEDER COVER IS CLOSED COMPLETELY, LOAD THE ORIGINAL IN THE DOCUMENT FEEDER AND TRY AGAIN.

It will feed the first and second paper through then it says "HP document feeder was not able to pick up the original make sure the document feeder cover is closed completely, load the original in the document feeder and try again

I have done all the cleanings, reset the printer, did the software updates and reinstalled the printer and the app multiple times. No luck

What else can I do?

Hi @DarkMedicWV,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Officejet Pro 8025 is experiencing issues with the document feeder not picking up the original documents. Here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Step 1: Check the Condition of the Paper

  1. Remove all originals from the document feeder tray.
  2. Inspect the paper for damage such as rips, wrinkles, or folds.
  3. Ensure all pages are of the same size and type.
  4. Align the stack of paper by tapping it on a flat surface.
  5. Reload the paper into the document feeder tray, ensuring it is not higher than the guides.

Step 2: Check the Document Feeder Cover

  1. Ensure the document feeder cover is completely closed.
  2. If unsure, open and re-close the document feeder cover to ensure it is tightly secured.

Step 3: Clean the Document Feeder and Rollers

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Remove any originals from the document feeder tray.
  3. Lift the document feeder cover.
  4. Using a slightly damp, lint-free cloth, clean the rollers and separator pad.
  5. Allow the parts to dry before lowering the document feeder cover and turning the printer back on.

Step 4: Reset the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer using the power button.
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power source.
  3. Wait for 60 seconds.
  4. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then back into the printer.
  5. Turn the printer back on.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
