HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 Wide Format All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello HP Community,

The printer that I own has an error that says "Paper Jamb,"  but there is no paper that is Jamb, and I have also clean the sensors rollers and the error still appears. I'm not able to reset to its manufacture settings because the "Paper Jamb" error is not letting me to proceed to the settings.

I hope an expert can help me out with this problem.

Thank you,

Kevin Gonzalez

@Kevin3479, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Power off the printer and unplug it from the wall outlet.

Open all access areas: rear door, front output tray, and ADF (automatic document feeder) if used.

Carefully inspect all visible paper paths, including:

  • The duplexer (rear door or rear access panel).
  • Inside the input tray and print carriage area.
  • The ADF feed path and rollers.

Use a flashlight to look for any torn paper bits, labels, or debris lodged deep in the paper path or near sensors.

Manually move the printhead carriage to both sides if it’s stuck, but only if it moves freely when powered off.

With the printer still unplugged, clean the paper feed and path sensors using a lint-free cloth and compressed air. Focus near the rollers and clear sensor openings.

Plug the printer back in and power it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
