HP Photosmart Plus All-in-One Printer - B209a
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I get the error message "Please turn printer Off and then On" after I had a paper jam. I have unplugged the power cord, removed and reinstalled the printer cartridges, nothing works to remove the message so I can print

@Reed777, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the printer due to this error. To assist you better, are you able to bypass this error and access the home screen of the printer?

Check for any jams inside the printer, follow the steps mentioned in these documents - A 'Paper Jam' Error and Carriage jam or E3 error

Go to Setup > Tools > Restore to defaults

Note: Doing this will delete all the user settings on the printer.

If you are not able to bypass the error,

  • I've sent you a private message with further instructions to resolve this issue.
