LaserJet 5200tn Paper Jam Picks multiple sheets

Hello,

I was given this printer to use by my IT guy and after installing it and trying to print from try 2 I receive the error: 13.01.00 printer Jam. I've tried different paper, different size paper, different orientation, cleaned the rollers. no change. First, the printer works great pulling paper from tray 1. The only problem is when using tray 2. I've read post saying it's the pickup solenoid. This might be it but getting to it looks pretty complicated. Is there something else I should try first?

If it is pulling multiple pages one after another that is a common symptom of a sticking solenoid. You will likely hear the pickup roller continuing to turn, even thoigh a page has been fed. You likely have to remove a board and other items that are blocking access, but it has been a while since I worked one of these.
