Hi @KeericaH, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "Paper Mismatch" error on an HP printer usually occurs due to incorrect paper size settings, sensor issues, or firmware problems. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve it:

Check Paper Size Settings

  • On your computer, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your HP printer and select Printing Preferences.
  • Go to the Paper/Quality or Advanced tab and ensure the correct paper size is selected (e.g., A4, Letter, etc.).
  • Click OK to save the settings.

Adjust Paper Settings on the Printer

  • If your printer has a touchscreen, go to Settings > Paper Setup and confirm the paper size matches what is in the tray.
  • If using manual feed or a secondary tray, ensure the correct tray is selected.

Load Paper Correctly

  • Remove the paper stack, fan the sheets, and reload them.
  • Adjust the paper guides snugly against the paper edges without bending them.
  • Ensure no curled, damp, or damaged paper is in the tray.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power for 1-2 minutes.
  • Plug it back in, turn it on, and try printing again.

Update Firmware & Drivers

  • Go to HP Support and download the latest firmware and drivers for your printer model.
  • Install the updates and restart both your printer and computer.

Bypass the Error (If Urgent)

If the settings are correct but the error persists:

For Windows:

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  • Right-click your printer, select Printer Properties > Device Settings, and turn off the "Paper Size Mismatch" option.

For Mac:

  • Open System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your printer and ensure "Scale to Fit" is enabled when printing.

Factory Reset (Last Resort)

If nothing works, reset the printer to factory settings:

  • On touchscreen models, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults.
  • For non-touch models, perform a hard reset by holding the Power and Cancel buttons simultaneously for 10-15 seconds.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
