I have 2 trays for my multifunction printer. I keep paper in the top tray and envelopes in the lower tray. When I first installed the lower tray it recognized it and it worked fine for several years. Recently, the printer no longer recognizes the lower tray and I cant get it to print the envelopes.

Which printer do you have? If you recently had the printer removed from the bottom tray, the connector may be damaged.

HP Recommended

It is the OfficeJet Pro 8740. i had not removed the tray when the problem initially happened. I have since removed the tray at least once.
