I got a new computer running windows 11 and I can no longer print on 5x7 paper through MS office products. Yes, I make sure the printer paper size settings is set to 5x7. Yes, I make sure the printer driver settings is set to 5x7. Yes, I am sure the paper is loaded properly.

I can print to the same printer from my old laptop and it works. And I can print from my new computer using Adobe Reader and that works. The problem is just with MS Word and PPT. The paper loads, the printer says printing is complete but nothing prints. The printer status message says that 5x7 is not supported and to use one of the following paper sizes and only lists Letter, Legal and A4.

The only problem is with Office products and my new Windows 11 computer. I have verified the firmware is updated and I have the latest printer driver.

Hi @Carol1727,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing issues printing on 5x7 paper using MS Office products from your new Windows 11 computer. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that the printer drivers are up to date. You can check the manufacturer's Official HP® Support for any new drivers compatible with Windows 11.

Check Microsoft Office Updates:

  • Make sure that your Microsoft Office suite is fully updated. Sometimes, updates resolve compatibility issues with certain hardware or configurations.

Verify Printer Settings in MS Office:

  • Open the Print dialog in Word or the Office application you’re using.
  • Go to the "Printer Properties" or "Preferences" and confirm the paper size is set to 5x7.
  • Check other settings like orientation and margins to ensure they are correct for 5x7 printing.

Check Page Setup:

  • Ensure that the page setup within your Word document is also set to the desired 5x7 size. You can find this under the "Layout" tab in Word, then "Size".

Reinstall MS Office:

  • If the problem persists, consider uninstalling and reinstalling MS Office to see if that fixes the issue.

Use a Different Printer Driver:

  • Sometimes a generic driver might work better than a specific one. Try using a PCL or PostScript driver if available.

Check for Conflicting Applications or Settings:

  • Ensure no other application is interfering with the print job, especially if the issue is only with specific software.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
