When I try to print, it makes the sounds like its connecting. sounds like its printing then its about to feed and stops. We life the lid and open the bottom part pull out the tray in the back and pull out the plain paper. then close everything up and it starts to reconnect and try printing then it does the same thing. stops at the feeding and says paper jam. We have tried blowing are to clean any dust and we have used the HP clean sheet and nothing. We have even powered off the printer and leave off anywhere from 10sec to 60sec even 5min and when we go to print something new it does the exact same thing.
Not sure what to do anymore.

Hi @Susanboyle,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Verify No Paper Blocks Inside:
- Front Paper Tray: Remove the tray and ensure there are no obstructions or scraps inside.
- Rear Access: After pulling out the tray, use a flashlight to see if there are any small pieces of torn paper inside the rear paper path.
Clear Paper Jam from Input Tray:
- Pull the paper gently out of the input tray.
- Ensure the paper is properly aligned and not overloaded in the tray.
Clear Paper Jam from Output Tray:
- Pull any visible paper gently out of the output tray.
Clear Paper Jam from Cartridge Access Area:
- Open the cartridge access door and slide the print carriage to the right to access any jammed paper.
- Carefully remove any visible jams.
Cleaning the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder):
- Lift the cover of the ADF.
- Gently pull any stuck paper out of the rollers.
- Ensure that there are no remaining torn pieces to avoid future jams.
Ensure Paper is Not Curled or Damaged:
- Check that the paper being used is not curled or damaged.
- Use fresh, flat, undamaged paper.
Check Paper Settings:
- Ensure that paper settings on the printer match the paper type and size you are using.
Perform Printer Reset:
- Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall outlet.
- Turn on the printer.
Clean the Roller and Check for Debris:
- Use a lint-free cloth to gently clean the paper rollers located inside the printer.
- Make sure the rollers are free from dust and debris.
I hope this helps.
