My Hp deskjet plus ink advantage 6475 had a paper jam. It has been cleared. Checked everything for possible small pieces of but didn't see anything. Reset everything. Even unplugged it like it's says waited 60 seconds. But no success the light is not blue it's orange and there is a E flashing. I don't know what is wrong with the printer and why it still doesn't want to print on the computer it says there is no paper in but there is paper in

Hi @54086450

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Here are the steps you can follow to resolve the issue with your DeskJet Plus Ink Advantage 6475:

Check the paper tray

  • Remove all paper from the input tray.
  • Fan the stack to ensure sheets are not stuck together.
  • Reload plain white paper, making sure the stack is aligned and not exceeding the tray’s capacity.
  • Adjust the paper guides so they lightly touch the edges of the paper without bending it.

Inspect the paper path again

  • Open the rear access door or duplexer if your model has one.
  • Look carefully inside for any small scraps of paper or obstructions.
  • Ensure rollers are clean and free of dust or debris.

Check the carriage movement

  • Open the ink cartridge access area.
  • Verify that the carriage moves freely from side to side.
  • If it is stuck, gently move it to the center and check for obstructions.

Reset the printer properly

  • With the printer powered on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the cord back into the wall outlet first, then reconnect to the printer.
  • Power on the printer.

Check the control panel

  • If the “E” continues to flash, press the Cancel button to clear the error.
  • Try printing a test page directly from the printer’s control panel to confirm if the error persists.

Run Diagnose & Fix in the HP App (Windows)

  • Open the HP App on your computer.
  • Select your printer.
  • Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to automatically detect and resolve issues.

Clean the paper feed rollers (Windows)

  • In the HP App, navigate to Printer Maintenance.
  • Select Clean Paper Feed Rollers.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the cleaning process.

If the printer still shows the orange light and “E” after these steps, the issue may be related to the paper sensor or internal hardware.

Since you mentioned you will handle warranty or service yourself, these steps will help you confirm whether the problem is mechanical or software-related.
