@Rajan208, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A paper jam can be frustrating, but I’ll guide you through the steps to resolve it safely and get your HP printer back up and running.

Turn off the printer

  • Press the Power button to turn off the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and the wall outlet.

Check all paper paths

  • Input tray: Remove any loose paper.
  • Output tray: Look for jammed paper and gently pull it out.
  • Rear access door or duplexer (if your model has one): Open it and remove any stuck paper.
  • Ink cartridge access area: Open the front cover and check for paper inside.

Important: Always pull jammed paper slowly and evenly to avoid tearing it and leaving scraps inside.

Remove any torn paper bits

  • Use a flashlight to inspect inside the printer.
  • Remove any small pieces of paper that may be stuck in rollers or gears.

Check the rollers

  • Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to ensure they move freely.

Reload paper and restart

  • Reload paper into the input tray.
  • Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
