Hi @Teesjets,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP LaserJet Pro M203dw is not grabbing paper and showing a paper jam message despite no paper being present in any paths, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.

  • Check for Obstructions: Even if you can't see any paper, there may be small shreds or debris blocking the paper path. Use a flashlight to thoroughly examine the paper path, including the input and output trays, the toner cartridge area, and the rear access door if your printer has one. Remove any debris you find.
  • Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear temporary errors that may be causing the problem.
  • Check Paper Settings: Make sure the paper size and type settings in the printer driver or control panel match the paper you're using. Incorrect settings can sometimes cause paper feeding issues.
  • Inspect Paper Trays: Ensure that the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray and that the guides are adjusted snugly against the paper stack. If the paper is not aligned properly, it may not be picked up by the printer.
  • Clean the Paper Feed Rollers: Paper feed rollers can accumulate dust and debris over time, leading to feeding problems. Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on accessing and cleaning the rollers.
  • Check for Wear on Rollers: If the rollers are worn out, they may not grip the paper properly. Inspect the rollers for signs of wear and replace them if necessary. Replacement rollers can usually be purchased from HP or authorized retailers.
  • Update Firmware/Drivers: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updating the printer's software can resolve issues like paper feeding problems.

By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and resolve the paper feeding issue with your HP LaserJet Pro M203dw.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
