Hi

I'm having a problem with my printers page feeder. When I try to print the paper gets pulled to one side and tries to print at an angle but then the paper gets stuck and it can't print. I've tried everything suggested but nothing works.  Please help. Thank you

Hi @Ant0707

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for your persistence and for trying multiple solutions already—it’s clear you’ve been thorough, and I completely understand how frustrating it is when the paper won’t feed straight.

If your printer’s page feeder is pulling paper to one side and jamming, the issue is likely due to misaligned paper guides, worn rollers, or debris inside the tray. A careful cleaning and realignment process can often restore smooth feeding.

Let’s go step by step to help your printer handle paper smoothly again.

1. Power Off and Unplug

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • This ensures safety and resets any mechanical tension in the rollers.

2. Remove All Paper

  • Take out all paper from the input tray.
  • Fan the stack gently to separate any sheets that may be sticking together.
  • Check for curled, wrinkled, or damp pages—only use clean, flat paper.

3. Check and Adjust Paper Guides

  • Slide the paper width guides snugly against the edges of the paper stack.
  • Make sure the guides are not too tight or too loose—misaligned guides are a common cause of skewing.

4. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Gently wipe the rollers inside the input tray and any visible rollers in the rear access area.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides.
  • Allow them to dry for at least 10 minutes before proceeding.

5. Check for Obstructions

  • Open the rear access door or duplexer (if your printer has one).
  • Look for any torn paper, labels, or debris that may be lodged inside.
  • Remove anything found with care—avoid using sharp tools.

6. Reload Paper and Test

  • Reload 10–25 sheets of plain A4 or Letter-size paper.
  • Reconnect the power and turn on the printer.
  • Try printing a test page from the HP App or printer control panel.

You can follow this official HP guide for paper jam and feed issues:
Fix Paper Jam Errors | HP® Support

If the paper still pulls to one side after these steps, let me know if the issue occurs from the main tray, ADF (if equipped), or both.

You’ve done a great job staying patient—let’s keep going until your printer feeds paper straight and smooth again.
