I can't print it's jammed

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

 

If your HP Smart Tank 790 or 7600 series printer displays a Paper Jam error message, follow these steps to clear the jam and resume printing:

Possible Jam Locations

Paper jams can occur in multiple areas:

Input Tray Area:

  • Remove and inspect the input and output trays for accessible jammed paper.

Inside the Printer:

  • Lift the ink access door and remove any jammed paper from the printhead access area.

Rear of the Printer:

  • Open the rear door and clear any jammed paper.

Document Feeder:

  • Lift the document feeder cover and remove paper jams from the automatic document feeder (ADF).

Cleaning Paper Rollers

To avoid future jams, clean the paper rollers in the input tray using:

  • A lint-free cloth or swab
  • Distilled, filtered, or bottled water
  1. Turn off the printer and disconnect all cables.
  2. Dampen a cotton swab with distilled water and clean the rollers by rotating them.

Resetting the Printer

To reset the printer after clearing jams:

  1. Turn off and unplug the printer for 60 seconds.
  2. Plug it back into a wall outlet and turn it on.
