I have an (HP) Office Jet 5230, but it is showing on the screen ' a paper tray is open'. I have switched off the printer and on again a couple of times and checked that there is no paper jam and the paper tray slid back into place correctly but its still stating that the tray is open so I cannot print anything.
I have tried the virtual assistant - which was of no help whatsoever, and I also rang the customer number but could not speak to a human being, they sent me a link to the VA but that was incorrect!

I understand you are not able to use the printer because of this error. I appreciate your efforts in trying to resolve this issue by performing the necessary troubleshooting steps.
Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document - 'A paper tray is open. Close the tray to continue.' Message
If the error persists, I'm afraid this is a hardware issue. Please reach out to the HP Technical Support team in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
You may create a case on the website to obtain a case number if required. Kindly watch this video to know how.
