The paper will not feed through the printer. It starts but doesn't finish the task to printing. I hear the ink going back and forth, but no paper is there to print on. I thought the roller needed cleaning, but I cannot find them.

Hi @Susan338

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for sharing what’s happening—I’m really sorry your HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer isn’t feeding paper properly. You’ve done the right thing by checking the rollers and listening for movement. When the ink carriage moves but paper doesn’t feed, it’s often a mechanical or alignment issue.

Let’s walk through a clean recovery to help restore smooth paper pickup.

Step-by-Step: Fix Paper Feed Issues on HP OfficeJet 200

1. Check Paper Type and Loading

  • Use clean, unused, plain white paper—avoid curled, wrinkled, or glossy sheets.
  • Fan the stack to prevent sticking.
  • Load 10–15 sheets into the input tray.
  • Slide the paper width guides snugly against the edges—don’t overtighten.

The printer may fail to grab paper if the stack is too small or misaligned.

2. Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

The rollers are inside the rear access area.

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the rear access door or input tray cover.
  • Locate the gray rubber rollers.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean them.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to clean all sides.
  • Let them dry for 10 minutes before closing the cover.

Dust and residue can prevent proper grip, even if the rollers look clean.

3. Reset the Printer

  • With the printer powered on, unplug the power cable from the printer and wall.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Reconnect the cable directly to a wall outlet (avoid surge protectors).
  • Turn the printer back on and try printing again.

4. Run the Paper Feed Cleaning Tool (via HP App)

  • Open the HP App on your Windows 11 PC.
  • Tap your printer > Tools > Printer Maintenance > Clean Paper Feed.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions.

This tool rotates and cleans the rollers automatically.

5. Check for Obstructions

  • Open the input tray and rear access door.
  • Look for any torn paper, debris, or foreign objects.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect deep inside the feed path.

Even a small scrap can block feeding.

Let me know how the printer responds after cleaning and running the feed tool. You’ve done everything right—and I’ll help you get back to smooth, reliable printing.
