HP Tango X
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

we have a Ho tango X printer and during printing the paper does not feed properly and tilts before it’s feed into the printer and it either goes in angled causing a jam or doesn’t feed at all.
Are there any solutions to this issue? Or is it hardware related?

Hi @Caucano,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Tango X printer is not feeding paper properly and causing jams or not feeding at all, you can try several troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue. Here's a step-by-step guide.

  • Check Paper Type and Size: Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper as specified in your printer's manual. Using the wrong paper can lead to feeding problems.
  • Paper Tray Inspection: Open the paper input tray and check for any obstructions, foreign objects, or debris that might be blocking the paper path. Clean the tray if necessary.
  • Paper Condition: Make sure the paper is not wrinkled, creased, or curled. Straighten the paper and ensure it's in good condition.
  • Adjust Paper Guides: Adjust the paper guides in the input tray to snugly fit the paper size. Ensure they are not too tight, which can cause paper jams.
  • Load Paper Correctly: Ensure that you load the paper stack neatly and align it with the paper guides. Overloading the tray or using too few sheets can lead to feeding issues.
  • Printer Firmware Update: Check if there are any available firmware updates for your printer. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve known issues.
  • Clean the Rollers: Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the paper rollers, causing feed problems. Carefully clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth dampened with water.
  • Printer Reset: Turn off your printer, unplug it from the power source, and leave it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes clear minor issues.
  • Check for Sensor Blockage: Inspect for any sensors in the paper path that might be blocked or obstructed. Gently remove any debris if you find it.
  • Paper Quality: Ensure that you are using high-quality, manufacturer-recommended paper. Low-quality paper can cause feeding problems.
  • Print Settings: Make sure your print settings, such as paper type and paper size, in the printer driver software match the physical paper you are using.
  • Paper Path Alignment: Check if there's any misalignment in the paper path.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. I went through your checklist but wasn’t able to solve the issue. I could not find a way to update firmware but current one is INFNTYLP2N001.2330A.00.
the rollers were not accesible so could not check for debris. Also not able to perform sensor check as printer (aside from the ink cover lifting) is not accessible near paper input and I’m assuming I should not be taking screws off to check these items.  Adjusted paper tray guides as noted as well as the printer alignment.

any other suggestions?

Hi @Alden4

Thank you for your support. Unfortunately I am not able to reach HP directly as the printer is past its one year warranty. I did log into the support link you provided but only options available to me were the

HP Support Community or the Virtual Agent.
wiuld you have any other suggestions to address this issue? I’m basically unable to print and the unit is just less than 2 yrs old.
