Paper feed not working

The paper feed in my printer is not working. I can see that the rollers do not roll when it drops down to feed a piece of paper into the printer. There is a gear at the other end of the roller arm that seems to be not engaging with another gear.  Is there any way to fix this? Seems like a minor repair for somewhat expensive printer...otherwise the thing is kind of useless (great scanner, but still, if it can't print, it's taking up a bit too much space as a scanner)

Of course my warranty is expired, so I'm relegated to the forums
