HP ENVY Pro 6452 All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I have loaded and reloaded the paper maybe 5 times. I have plugged and unplugged the printer twice. I see this problem has been posted many many times for many models, but never is a solution suggested except those 2. Do I have to buy a Brother printer to print a page (or 2)?

Hi @GGrrrr,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer error!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following steps:

Check Paper Placement

  • Make sure the paper is aligned properly in the tray.
  • Fan the paper stack to prevent pages from sticking together.
  • Ensure the paper is not curled, damp, or wrinkled.

Adjust Paper Guides

  • The side guides in the paper tray should fit snugly against the paper without squeezing it.
  • If the guides are too tight, the printer might not pick up the paper properly.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers

  • Turn off and unplug the printer.
  • Open the paper tray and locate the rubber feed rollers.
  • Gently wipe them with a lint-free cloth dampened with water or rubbing alcohol.
  • Let them dry completely before turning the printer back on.

Reset the Printer

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it, and wait for 2-3 minutes.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Try loading paper again and printing a test page.

Update Printer Firmware & Drivers

  • Go to HP Support, enter your printer model, and download any firmware updates.
  • Update the printer driver on your computer.

Use Different Paper

  • Try another batch of paper to see if the issue is with the paper itself.
  • If you’re using thick or glossy paper, check if your printer supports it.

I did all those steps before posting and the problem remained the same. However, I discovered I can print easily with Windows. So as long as I don't have to use Mac I'm OK. This not the first time I've had problems with Mac and HP; I should've known better than to get another HP product!
