If you encounter a paper jam, follow these steps to clear the jam and resume printing:

General Steps for Clearing Paper Jams

Open the necessary covers:

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Open the paper path cover.

Remove the jammed paper:

  • Carefully pull out the jammed paper from the printer. Make sure to avoid tearing the paper.

Check for loose pieces of paper:

  • Ensure that there are no small pieces of paper left inside the printer.

Close the covers:

  • Close the paper path cover.
  • Close the cartridge access door.

Try printing again:

  • Resume printing to check if the issue is resolved.

Specific Types of Paper Jams

Paper Jam in the Input Tray:

  • Open the input tray and pull out the paper.
  • Move the slider button to unlock the front cover and lock the input tray.
  • Open the front cover door and check for loose paper pieces.

Paper Jam in the Cut Sheet/Rigid Input Tray:

  • Unlock and open the front cover.
  • Cut the paper if necessary (use scissors).

Paper Jam in the Paper-Access Front Cover:

  • Open the front cover.
  • Remove visible paper and ensure no loose pieces are left.

Paper Jam in the Paper Output:

  • Check the accessory interface.
  • Press the output button to raise the output module.
  • Pull out the paper carefully, avoiding pinchwheels.
