Hi @Hopeless1011,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing the paper jam issue in your HP OfficeJet Pro 8023, follow these steps:
1. Turn off the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source for safety.
2. Clear Paper from Input and Output Trays:
- Input Tray: Gently pull out any visible paper from the input tray.
- Output Tray: Remove any paper from the output tray.
3. Open the Front Cover and Clear the Jammed Paper:
- Open the front cover to access the print mechanism.
- Carefully check for any paper stuck inside the printer near the rollers. Pull out any jammed paper slowly and steadily to avoid tearing it.
4. Check the Duplexer:
- Open the rear access panel or duplexer (if applicable).
- Remove any jammed paper in this section, and check for small torn pieces of paper around the rollers.
5. Check the ADF (Automatic Document Feeder):
- If the jam is in the ADF, open the ADF cover and remove any stuck paper.
6. Inspect the Printhead Path:
- Move the printhead assembly manually (if possible) to ensure there is no paper blocking its movement.
7. Reconnect and Restart:
- Once you’ve cleared all the jammed paper, reconnect the printer and turn it back on. Print a test page to ensure the issue is resolved.
Important Tips:
- Be sure to avoid tearing the paper while removing it, as small pieces left behind can cause further jams.
- If the printer continues to show a paper jam message after removing the paper, try resetting the printer by turning it off, unplugging it for 60 seconds, and then powering it back on.
