Hi @Marwilla

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A paper jam can sometimes be tricky to locate, especially if it’s invisible or in a hard-to-reach area inside your printer. If you're experiencing a paper jam in your HP ENVY Photo 6230, but can't see the paper blocking the printer’s path, there are a few steps you can follow to check thoroughly and clear the jam.

Step-by-Step Guide to Find an "Invisible" Paper Jam:

1. Turn Off and Unplug the Printer

  • Turn off the printer by pressing the Power button.
  • Unplug the power cable to avoid any accidents while you're working inside the printer.

2. Check the Input and Output Trays

  • Check the input tray (where you load the paper) to see if any paper is partially stuck.
  • Open the output tray (where printed papers exit the printer). Sometimes, small pieces of paper or paper dust can cause issues here.

3. Open the Printer Cover

  • Open the front cover of the printer (where the printhead and ink cartridges are located).
  • Look for any visible paper stuck in the paper path. Gently pull out any paper that you can see. Be careful not to rip the paper while pulling it out.

4. Inspect the Paper Feed Area

  • Open the rear access door (if your printer has one) to check the paper feed path. Some printers have a rear paper exit or a rear access panel that allows you to manually clear jams in the paper path.
  • Look for any pieces of paper that may be stuck in the rollers or the feed path.

5. Manually Rotate the Rollers

  • In the printer’s interior, you’ll find rollers that move the paper. Manually rotate the rollers (while gently turning the paper path) to see if any paper is lodged between them.
  • If the jam is inside the rollers and you can’t reach it, gently pull the paper in the direction it normally travels (usually toward the back of the printer).

6. Check the Printhead Area

  • Sometimes the jam can occur around the printhead if paper or debris gets stuck under or near it.
  • Lift the ink cartridge area and check around the printhead for any small paper pieces or debris. Be careful while moving the printhead to avoid damaging it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
