Hi @Anthony222555,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you need to clear this quickly. Let’s get the paper out safely. Follow these steps to resolve a paper jam quickly:

  1. Turn Off the Printer:
    • Press the power button to shut off the printer and unplug it from the power source for safety.

  2. Access the Paper Path:
    • Open the printer's access doors. This typically includes the front cover or the rear door, depending on your model.

  3. Remove Jammed Paper:
    • Gently pull out any jammed paper. Pull the paper straight and avoid tearing it. Remove all pieces of paper to ensure the path is clear.

  4. Clear from Input and Output Trays:
    • Check the input and output trays for any bits of paper that might be causing obstructions.

  5. Open and Check Print Carriage Path:
    • If your printer model allows, move the print carriage manually to ensure it's not obstructed by any pieces of jammed paper.

  6. Check for Small Pieces of Paper:
    • Clear any small bits of torn paper from rollers or other parts of the printer using tweezers if necessary.

  7. Close All Covers:
    • Once the jammed paper is removed, securely close all access doors.

  8. Restart the Printer:
    • Plug the printer back in, power it on, and try printing a test page to check if the issue is resolved.

Prevention Tip:

  • Always fan the paper stack before loading it to avoid sheets sticking together, which may cause jams.

If the paper jam persists or you notice any damage inside the printer, refer to your printer’s manual for specific instructions or contact HP Authorized support for assistance.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
