Hi @Faraleen,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Laser 107a printer is displaying the message "paper is empty in tray. Load paper" but is not detecting the paper tray, there are a few things you can try to resolve the issue.

  • Check the paper tray: Make sure the paper tray is properly inserted into the printer and that the paper is loaded correctly. If the paper is not loaded correctly, remove it from the tray and reload it.
  • Clean the paper tray: Check the paper tray for any debris or dust that may be obstructing the paper sensors. Clean the tray with a dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Check the paper sensors: Look for any paper sensors that may be stuck or obstructed. If you find any, try to clear the obstruction using a small, soft brush or compressed air.
  • Restart the printer: Sometimes a simple restart can help resolve printer issues. Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source for a few minutes before plugging it back in and turning it on.
  • Update printer drivers: Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your computer. You can download the latest drivers from the HP website.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
