HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Paper has stopped feeding on my HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 printer.  I have owned the printer since 2019.  I tried cleaning the paper feed rollers that I accessed through the rear panel but it has not fixed the problem.

Hi @Crayburn319,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand that your HP OfficeJet Pro 8715 All-in-One Printer is no longer feeding paper correctly, even after cleaning the rear rollers. Paper feed issues are typically related to worn rollers, paper alignment, or sensor obstructions.

1. Check Paper Condition and Loading

  • Make sure the paper is clean, dry, and flat.
  • Fan the stack of paper to prevent sticking.
  • Adjust the paper width guides so they’re snug but not tight.

2. Clean Front & Rear Rollers Thoroughly

  • Power off and unplug the printer.
  • Remove the paper tray and rear access panel.
  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean all visible rollers — front (inside the tray area) and back.
  • Rotate the rollers manually to ensure complete cleaning.
  • Let dry for at least 10 minutes.

3. Use the Printer’s Internal Cleaning Tool (if available)

  • On the printer’s touchscreen:
Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Clean Paper Feed.

4. Hard Reset

  • With the printer on, unplug the power cord from both the rear of the printer and the wall.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and try printing again.

5. Try Manual Feed or Alternate Media

  • Load fewer sheets (10–15) and try a print job again.
  • Try with a different paper (e.g., plain letter size, not glossy or thick paper).

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I have this problem and none of the above has helped. Even after cleaning, the rollers are not picking up the paper. It also looks like they've gotten misaligned. Otherwise this printer is fine, so I'd really like to fix it.Screenshot 2025-06-11 at 3.46.53 PM.png

I have tried all of those things.  I have turned it off and disconnected the power cord several times.  Although there was a jam before this started, I can see nothing remaining in the available access areas.  The paper will go in only so far and then will stop.  If there is a way to access other areas to make sure there isn't still a jam, that information would be helpful.

Ready to give up snd get a new non-HP printer.  The lack of support has been so disappointing.
