HP ENVY 6458e All-in-One Printer

Hello,

Again, I have an issue with my newest printer, about a year and a half old.  Now the paper continuously jams.  When and if anything prints it sounds like it is tearing the paper apart.  I have removed several jams along the way. Now I have the white light blinking and the yellow light on the side blinking also. I have disconnected the printer several times as well as used the app to find the problem to no success.  When and if the paper prints anything sometimes hours later, the paper always has the right side flipped as it comes out. What can I do that I haven't tried yet?  This always happens when I need something to print.

Hi @Rayp2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing some significant issues with your HP ENVY 6458e All-In-One Printer. Continuous paper jams and strange noises during printing are usually signs of mechanical problems within the printer. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue.

  • Clear any paper jams: Make sure to carefully remove any stuck paper from the printer. Follow the instructions in the printer's manual to clear jams properly. Sometimes, even small bits of torn paper can cause further jams.
  • Check for debris: Inspect the printer's paper path and other internal areas for any debris such as small pieces of paper, dust, or foreign objects. Use compressed air to blow out any dust or debris that may be causing issues.
  • Use the right paper: Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of paper for your printer. Using paper that is too thick, too thin, or of poor quality can cause feeding problems and jams. Also, make sure the paper is loaded correctly in the paper tray.
  • Update firmware: Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Sometimes, updating the printer's firmware can resolve known issues and improve its performance.
  • Inspect printer rollers: The rollers that feed the paper through the printer can wear out over time, leading to feeding problems and paper jams. Inspect the rollers for any signs of damage or wear, and clean them if necessary.
  • Reset the printer: Try performing a factory reset on your printer to see if it resolves the issue. Instructions for resetting your printer can usually be found in the user manual or on the HP website.

By following these steps, you should hopefully be able to identify and resolve the issue with your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
