HP ENVY 6452e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Have an HP Envy 6452e, when printing the paper comes out torn on the upper right corner and the lower left side.  I cannot find anything stuck or jammed to cause this.  Any ideas?

Hi @Otis65,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for explaining the issue so clearly. Torn paper at the upper right corner and lower left side usually points to a mechanical issue inside the printer, even if no obvious jam is visible. Let’s go through the recommended checks for your HP ENVY 6452e:

Recommended Steps

1. Check Paper Quality and Loading

  • Use HP-recommended paper (plain, 20–24 lb, not curled or damp).
  • Make sure the paper stack is aligned and not overfilled.
  • Adjust the paper guides snugly against the paper without bending it.

2. Inspect the Paper Path

Even if nothing looks stuck:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Open the input and output trays.
  • Use a flashlight to check deep inside for:
    • Small scraps of paper
    • Foreign objects
    • Bent rollers

3. Clean and Reset Rollers

Dust or worn rollers can cause paper to skew and tear.

  • Remove the rear access panel (if available).
  • Clean rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Let them dry for 10 minutes before reconnecting.

4. Check for Roller Damage

If rollers are worn or cracked, they can grip unevenly and tear paper. This may require service or replacement.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Firmware updates can fix feed calibration issues: 👉 HP ENVY 6452e All-in-One Printer | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
