Paper tray adjustment issues

Hello. I just purchased an HP 7602 smart tank printer.  Although I can adjust the width in the paper tray, I cannot adjust the length to 8 1/2 inches. Is this the way it is meant to be?

 The paper tray on the HP Smart Tank 7602 printer allows width adjustments but does not include a dedicated adjustable length stopper for 8.5 x 11-inch (Letter) paper. This is how the tray is designed. The rear end of the tray supports paper lengths up to 14 inches (Legal size), but there isn't a mechanical adjustment to shorten the length precisely to 8.5 inches.

This can sometimes cause the paper to slide slightly inside the tray if it’s not fully loaded, but it does not impact printing performance when correctly loaded.
 

Recommendations from HP:

• Ensure the paper stack is firmly aligned and not loosely placed in the tray.
• Adjust the width guides snugly against the paper edges to keep sheets properly aligned and feeding straight.
• If needed, you can place a small, firm spacer behind the paper stack to prevent unwanted movement.

I have had the same issue with this printer.  Since there is not a stopper or mechanism to adjust for the 8.5 x 11 paper size, it continuously will pull multiple of partial sheets at a time.

This is a design flaw.  

Will HP provide a spacer or stopper that can be placed in the tray to fix this known issue?
