HP Office Jet 8710 Pro. Using HP Photo Paper 61 lb. Paper constantly jams and will not feed up through the rollers in back of printer. I opened back door cover and cleaned all the rollers several times. Still jams with photo paper. Non photo paper works fine. Printer is five years old and do not want to replace because it prints, faxes, scans, etc without any problems. ONLY JAMS WITH PHOTO PAPER!

Hi @ fredcampo1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Dealing with paper jams can be frustrating, especially when it's specific to a certain type of paper. Here are steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 when using photo paper:
Paper Quality and Type:
- Ensure that you are using the correct type and size of photo paper that is supported by your printer. Refer to the printer's manual for the recommended paper specifications.
Paper Loading:
- Make sure you are loading the photo paper correctly. Check the paper tray guides to ensure they are set to the correct paper size.
- Adjust the paper guides to fit snugly against the edges of the photo paper.
Printer Settings:
- Check the printer settings on your computer to make sure they match the paper type and size you are using.
- In the print settings, select the correct paper type (photo paper) and adjust any other relevant settings.
Clean Rollers:
- Even though you mentioned cleaning the rollers, it's worth checking again. Use a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol to clean the rollers thoroughly.
- Ensure there is no dust, debris, or paper remnants stuck in the paper path.
Update Printer Drivers:
- Make sure you have the latest printer drivers installed on your Windows 11 system. You can download the latest drivers from the official HP website.
Reset the Printer:
- Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, and wait for a few minutes.
- Plug it back in and turn it on. This can sometimes reset internal components and resolve issues.
Paper Condition:
- Check the condition of the photo paper. Ensure that it is not bent, curled, or damaged.
Use Genuine HP Photo Paper:
- While it might seem obvious, using genuine HP photo paper can sometimes make a difference. The printer is designed to work optimally with the recommended paper.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.-
