I'm trying to print photos using printable photo paper and every time I load the paper into my tray, the printer does not pick it up correctly and cuts off half the photo when printing. Is there any way to fix this issue? I'm only loading one at a time or I've tried multiple and it still does the same thing and I have aligned the printer and that still has not fixed the issue.

Hi @eem668,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a common issue with the printer not feeding the photo paper correctly, which can result in cut-off or incomplete photo prints. Here are a few steps you can follow to fix this issue:

Check Paper Type and Size Settings:

  • Ensure that the printer settings on your computer match the paper type and size you are using. Go to your print settings and select the corresponding photo paper type and size (e.g., 4x6, 5x7).

Load the Paper Correctly:

  • Make sure you are loading the photo paper with the glossy or print side facing down (or the correct orientation based on your printer model).

  • Adjust the paper width guides snugly against the edges of the paper stack without bending the paper.

Use Quality Paper:

  • Verify that you are using a good-quality printable photo paper that is compatible with your printer model. Non-compliant paper can lead to feed issues.

Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:

  • Over time, dust and debris can accumulate on the rollers, causing feed issues. Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with water (refer to your printer manual for specific cleaning instructions).

Check for Firmware and Software Updates:

  • Ensure your printer firmware and driver software are up-to-date. Official HP® Support. Outdated software can sometimes lead to communication issues between your computer and printer.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
