I had the same issue with my HP Envy Inspire printer, only 4 months old. After spending 45 minutes with HP Support, we identified that the printer MUST be plugged directly into an outlet - no surge protector, multi plug, or extension cord. I was very incredulous and they couldn't explain why it works, but it did fix the issue for my printer. Good luck!
