Hi,

I am getting an error message constantly on my printer saying "print cartridge cannot move". I have checked throughout for residual paper from a paper jam, but there is nothing blocking any part of the printer - paper or otherwise that I can see. I have taken out all of the drawers and turned it upside down, still nothing. I have tried powering off and still nothing.

All the while the print cartridges can move easily along the runner when I do it manually, and move to the far left when the printer is loading up (and that's where they remain when the printer issue comes up).

HELP!!! 🙁

Most common cause of this behaviour is either a dirty or damaged encoder strip. This mylar strip runs the length of the carriage and a sensor reads the microfine grid that is printed on it to determine printhead location.
