My computer is relatively new, although I have had desk computers and printers for years. However I am far from knowledgeable about computers or printers. My problem is that when I want to print,
and tap the print button to print, the printer makes a funny noise and shuts down.
It displalys a message to"remove the paper jam, and to be sure paper is loaded properly" But there is no paper in the printer.
No jam, no paper.
I would truly appreciate some help.

@Viva1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand the printer is not working fine. Let us try these steps:
Reset the printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
- Wait at least 60 seconds.
- Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
- Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
- Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.
Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.
Update the printer firmware if possible
