@ashish174, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're facing a paper jam issue with your HP Smart Tank 520/540 series printer. I'd be happy to help you resolve this.
Please follow these steps carefully to remove any jammed paper and restore your printer to normal operation:
Check the Input Tray
- Turn off the printer and disconnect the power cord.
- Remove any loose paper from the input tray.
- Gently pull out any visible jammed paper. Do not tear the paper while removing it.
Open the Ink Cartridge Access Area
- Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the carriage to move to the center.
- Check for jammed paper inside and gently remove it.
- Ensure the carriage can move freely from side to side.
Check the Output Tray and Rear Area
- Look inside the output tray and remove any stuck paper.
- Locate and open the rear access door or cleanout door (if present).
- Carefully remove any paper stuck inside. Rotate rollers manually if necessary.
Clean the Paper Feed Rollers (Optional but recommended)
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water to clean the rollers.
- Wait until the rollers dry before plugging the printer back in.
Reconnect and Test
- Reconnect the power cord and turn the printer ON.
- Try printing a test page.
